Starting today

I'm on duty this morning, the first day of classes, to advise students coming in to the office. It's mostly a big bore. Students recognise they need to take courses in sequence, but then come up with all sorts of excuses for why they can't, or why they need to take 18 hours in a semester, or why they need overrides. It gets old very quickly.

Still, it is a necessary job. And most students accept the help that they're seeking.
